Journal
This journal holds the pieces I publish after the first draft has stopped arguing with me. They are arranged by year because that is how I remember them—not by theme or mood, but by which bus routes I was taking and whether the canal mirror was calm or broken on the week I wrote. Most entries stay close to home: Kallang Pudding Road outward to Geylang Bahru, Lavender, the park connectors I walk when a sentence will not settle at the desk. I write in past tense here even when the memory feels immediate, because distance keeps me honest. You will find no ranking, no favourites flagged with stars. If a piece appears in 2025 and another in 2026, the gap between them might mean I was busy, or stuck, or simply living without needing to report it. The Chin Swee note lives on the landing page rather than below because it is written in present tense and still feels ongoing. Everything else is filed where time put it. Read in any order. Stop when a paragraph matches your hour. Return when it does not. Titles describe place or hour rather than argument because I distrust headlines that promise more than a paragraph can deliver. Secondary images appear only where a second angle helped me see the scene—railway bridge shade, a shelf near the reading chair—not as decoration. If you are looking for a complete map of my weeks, this is the wrong archive; if you want fragments that survived revision, welcome. Each row below pairs a date with a thumbnail and a short line from the piece itself. Nothing here is locked or excerpted behind a signup. Open what you want, leave the rest for another evening when the kettle has time to boil twice. The list is small on purpose.
